A Good Last Hurrah

I don't know about you, but Labor Day Weekend is definitely not the weekend I go camping.  However, you'll be happy to know, I didn't miss out on the traffic!  Heading out to the Outlet Mall  in Woodburn, Oregon wouldn't have been worth it, except that the mall is amazing.  Stop and go nearly the whole way all because of Labor Day Campers, but they had Northface, Levi, Gap, to name a few worthy destinations.  The kids are off today sporting their new duds for the first day of school.  (And I'm still snuggly in my jammas loving the quiet house.)

So rather than camping this Labor Day, we did the back to school shopping, made iced tea, and baked zucchini bread.  I added some green tea into the mix, which made the sun tea quite yummy, and used a new recipe for the bread which called for yeast, so it turned out very traditional and bread like and made the house smell like a bakery.  A nice end to a long adventurous summer break.  I think I am a little ready for fall, and hoodies, and boots, and the air conditioner to go into hibernation.

I love zucchini bread. My mom makes the best in the world.

I often make fridge tea from jasmine green tea. That stuff is amazing. I've also worked with all combinations of fruit tea bags, mixed with some black tea. Really tasty, too. Even without sugar!

That bread looks yummy! I'm sure it goes well with a big bowl of soup or stew.
