Never Ending Entertainment

We discovered our local library this summer.  I have officially decided that I no longer have enough excuses to return books late and that means I can no longer avoid the library.  I used to be so busy with college classes, work, and everything else that the books would get lost or just forgotten about, so I stopped taking the kids to the library.

Now we are rediscovering our love of the place, leaving with what seems like a hundred books at a time!  I've even taken to borrowing some myself.  The library is simply an unending source of entertainment, and I love it that the kids are picking up books at home in every spare moment.

MyGirl decided to learn about Egyptians and oddly borrowed a book on the stock market.  MyBoy borrows stacks of novels and even a book on alien societies.  You never know what you'll find on those shelves...

A Delicious Book

Here it is, my companion for the last few days, and probably not much longer the way I am tearing through the pages!  This book is a little mix of mystery, history, fairytale, and full of underlying trials and triumphs that are at once relatable and foriegnly shocking all the same.  A perfect summer read, I promise!

What are you all reading this summer??

Great Read

MyBoy got me hooked on a teen series called The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins.  Wow, I could not put it down at all, not any of the three books in the series.  In fact, couldn't even wait for the paperback to come out and thus have the hardback copies.  I think I read each one in two days because the suspense was killing me.  Kudos to MyBoy for being such an advanced reader at age ten and having great taste in fiction!
If adventure, humanity, rooting for the underdog, and a truly feminist free thinking plot interests you, pick these books up.  What a fun read.  Of course the movie is in the making....
